What if I told you there was an easy, non-invasive way to market your brand to people who actually want you to engage with them? I’m not talking about some magical organic remedy that will have you ranking at the top of Denver web design organic rankings or buying a list of emails to bombard with constant spam. I’m talking about something you probably see every day and may not pay very much attention to. Although you may have not used them yourself very much but no doubt you know what push notifications are. You know those things you get on the lock screen of your phone when someone pokes you on Facebook? Well, have you ever noticed the ones you get when you go to a blog on your desktop browser? Same concept really. Now why not use this to your advantage to brand yourself in a passive manner?
Keep in mind that not all browsers utilize push notifications at this point (although you may see this change pretty soon) but it doesn’t mean that it still can’t be advantageous for any website owner. The big ones that do allow push notifications are Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. Keep in mind that these three browsers together consist of roughly 86% of the market share on browsers (Chrome itself being somewhere around 66%). Knowing this then you can probably come to the conclusion that push notifications are more than likely to be seen by most people searching the internet these days.
